Self Service and Software Center

There are many software items that only a few courses or even a few students will need during the year.
To optimise the standard images across the school we’ve opted to make these items available via the “Self Service” portal in MacOS and in “Software Center” on Windows.

To install an available item onto a student workspace computer:

MacOS Self Service:

  1. Open the “Self Service” application
  2. Click the “install” button next to the item you need
  3. Wait until the installer finishes

Software available from MacOS Self Service:

  • DragonFrame
  • Headus UV Edit
  • Mesh Lab
  • Meshmixer
  • Origami
  • Tableau
  • Unreal

Windows Software Center:

  1. Open the “Software Center” application
  2. Select the software items you want to install from the “Available Software” list
  3. Click the “install” button in the bottom right
  4. Wait until the installer finishes

There should be no prompts and it should install the software item in the background.
